Me ne frego

Human indifference to the extinction of the living world.
Me ne frego, an Italian expression adopted into Argentine usage that means ‘I don’t give a damn’, alludes to a cynical indifference to environmental change and degradation.
As global warming disrupts ecosystems and plastic and chemical pollution invades our surroundings, the characters carry on with their activities as if nothing were happening. Through installations laced with scathing irony, these scenes set the banality of everyday activities against the sheer scale of the ecological disaster.
An allegory of a humanity pressing on with its headlong race at the very heart of ecocide.
