La mirada negada

Looking away is a way of denying uncomfortable realities.
Some realities remain in plain sight, yet seem not to exist. Suffering, frailty and neglect become invisible when we stop paying attention or choose to look the other way.
Older people, the sick, the dying and people with disabilities embody a vulnerability that society is not always prepared to acknowledge. This series confronts us with the consequences of that indifference, and with a form of blindness that lies not in being unable to see, but in refusing to see.
